Elena's Profile:
New York - a native of Russia, Elena Zharina began her affair with fashion at the age of 7 when she became part of the children's national folkloric ballet of Moscow. As a dancer she was familiar with the stage, the lights, the cameras, the make up and especially with her costumes made by her grandmother who is a seamstress. After relocating to New York at the age of 19 she began her studies in fashion merchandising and International Trade and Marketing for the fashion industries at the Fashion Institute of Technology. After graduating in 2001, Elena found that the corporate world didn't fulfill the artist within and decided to resume her studies in 2003 at the same institution this time to complete the fashion styling program. Thereafter, Elena has contributed to many of the world's best magazines such as Harper's Bazar Latin America, Fluid New York, Jezebel, Blank and Mami magazine. She has worked with the industry's prominent photographers includins Christian Behr, Chika Kobari (from Nylon), Day Liang, Lisa Sciascia and Young Seo. She fell in love with the magic of Fashion Shows and has worked steadily for the last three years with BB's backstage, dressing at some of the most remarkable designer's shows such as Douglas Hannant, Tuleh, Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera, Jeremy Scott, among many others. She has styled advertising campaigns for print and TV for Verizon.Her style has often been described as electric, edgy and urban but very feminine.
