Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße is located in the Pinzgau in the Austrian federal state of Salzburg. It is quite close to the ski resort Schmittenhöhe and therefore a popular location for overnight stays amongst skiers and riders. In winter the region offers best conditions for beginners, intermediates, snowboarders, skiers, and families. In summer the region is popular amongst hikers and mountaineers who want to explore the mountain world around the Großgklockner.

In winter everyone who is looking for some aprés ski fun will not be disappointed, either. You will find most aprés ski bars around Bruck and Zell am See. Another highlight of Bruck is its location at the Großglockner-Hochalpenstraße. It is a high alpine mountain road that connects the federal states of Salzburg and Carinthia. The road is about 50 km long and goes from Brucl to Heiligenblut.

Due to its geographis location of 756 meters a.s.l. amidst the northern Tyrolese limestone Alps Bruck and the region around Schmittenhöhe can offer their guests many sun hours and best powder. It's 92 km to get to the birthplace of Mozart, the regional capital Salzburg.

Bruck has about 4.400 inhabitants and numerous hotel in Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße are capable of accommodating a multiple of this number. In addition, there are many boarding houses available that alos offer a pleasurable stay. Since Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße is still widely unknown as a holiday destination amongst winter sportsmen it shouldn't be a problem to find accommodation, at least in the low season.

The ski resort Schmittenhöhe offers 77 km of designated trails of which 25 km are marked as easiesr (blue), 27 as intermediate (red) and 25 km as very difficult (black). The trails are serviced by 27 lifts that will bring you uphill safely. 12 of them are surface lifts, 9 chair lifts and 6 gondolas. Schmittenhöhe offers something for everyone. Besides snowboarders, beginner and families especially experienced skiers love to come back to Schmittenhöhe. Already at first glance the mere size of this ski resort is stunning. Even for very ambitious skiers and riders it is difficult to explore the resort in its entirety. However, most black runs can be mastered even by intermediate skiers and rider. There are no real expert runs that can only be mastered by a pro. Thus, this is a resort everyone will like. Experts will find a challenge whereas beginner and families can practice on the beginner runs and intermediates can cruise wide open trails.
