Understanding the Stack and Tilt Golf Swing - By: Rick Hendershot,

In a recent issue of Golf Digest (June 2007) a "new" golf swing has been described as the hottest thing on the PGA tour, and its proponents, Andy Plummer and Mike Bennet, have been hailed as the newest golf gurus. The new swing is called the "Stack and Tilt" swing.

I am a 73 year old 10 handycaper since I started using the Stack a7 Tilt when it came out in Golf Digest. I markedly improved my short game but I was inconsistant and shorter off the tee. I am in good physical shape as I swim and workout five times a week and have done so for 20 years. But two weeks ago after a tee shot a pain shot through the inside of my right thigh. I have a pulled Adductor Longus muscel which is in the hamstring group to laterally rotate the hip. I think this is a function of the hip thrust. Now off golf for 6 weeks. I basically like the swing but using new muscels can be bad. I also think it was a function of my now executing the tee shot well. Any comments?

I liked the article. The writer explained the essense of the Stack and Tilt swing very well. I have been using it for about a month now and I no longer have to worry about hooking my drives. They pretty much go straight. However, my short iron game is inconsistent. Sometimes I hit it perfect. About 3 or 4 times per round I pull it sharply or just hit it bad. It is hard to hit a precise short iron shot with so much going on from the waist down. Any suggestions?
