By: Steve Woodward

When it comes to booking any kind of holiday rentals for the first time no matter which country it is in there are certain steps a person can take to ensure that the whole process is made much easier. In this article, we look at the steps you should be taking if for example you wish to book Tuscany holiday rentals.

Step 1 - Although you may find yourself quite daunted by the prospect of booking a holiday rental, it does not have to be. A quick search on the internet and you will discover that there are lots of websites that can assist you in booking the right kind of holiday rental for your vacation. There are those that purely deal in holiday rentals or if you want, you can book the accommodation directly with the owner of the property instead.

One of the main advantages you will find to booking a property through the owner than through a holiday rental website is that you can save money. In most cases for the rental websites to make money they will charge those booking accommodation through them a fee, whereas booking direct you do not have to worry about this additional cost.

Step 2 - Now you have found some properties that you are considering renting for your next vacation you need to now take a closer look at each one of them. First, remove those from the list, which do not have sufficient details or photographs with them. Unfortunately, you could end up in a property that is falling down around your ears and so make your whole vacation an unpleasant one to say the least.

Step 3 - It is important that when considering booking any rental property over the internet that you feel comfortable with the person you are dealing with. Therefore, look closely at all communications that they send you and if you find any glaring, errors then move on to the next one on your list. Remember you will be handing over your hard-earned money to have an enjoyable vacation, so you need to be sure that you will be treated with courtesy and professionalism.

Also, look and read carefully through their terms and conditions if they have this. If they do not then move on to the next possible rental on your shortlist. You need to know exactly where you stand when it comes to booking, paying and cancelling the accommodation.

Step 4 - The final stage when it comes to booking rental homes is the method in which payment needs to be made. Generally most holiday rental websites and those run by the owners of the properties themselves require a deposit (usually 10%) at the time of booking. This covers them for any problems and is normally non-refundable in case a booking has to be cancelled. Then once the booking has been made, the deposit paid and then confirmed, about 2 to 3 months prior to the vacation taking place full payment may be required.

Also, when booking your accommodation you need to finally confirm the way in which payment can be made for your Tuscany holiday rentals. Many prefer payment to be made either using a credit card, Pay Pal or the funds being transferred from your bank account to theirs. It is best that you use the payment method that you feel the most comfortable with when doing this.
