Online dating is the whim of the century. It took the world like a hurricane and is a regular hobby of life as we know it all across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia. It might not have thumped the Middle East to date, but will. I wonder, why are we so enthralled by online dating? I have to admit I tend to look at onliune dating as a somewhat sordid pastime for loners. Then again, I've been single for how long?. And why should I think of it as seedy to want to find someone else? Of course, there are, undoubtedly, people who search for online dating sites to satisfy a seedier need. Many, though, are taken by the potential of learning of people so as to exchange a chat here and there with others further away. We eat, sleep and breathe to work. We find ourselves in massive cities but find no time for ourselves. Our cities bulge with loners trying to find other people, but its just too much of a burden meet others. To get out and meet other folk in bars is a nightmare too. And most often the conversation is either inaudible over the deafening dj or jibberish with a few drinks. We, who live in the bulging cities, simply can't find other people. So we greet eachother on the web. There are others still who visit these virtual hangouts looking for a laugh. Online dating sites ooze with humourously tall stories and photos - anything will do to reach the attention they're craving for.
