In the past few weeks, I have been actively researching any tried and true remedies for obtaining lower gasoline usage and I discovered an interesting correlation. The tips that actually work to improve gasoline mileage also save you on extra repairs being required on your vehicle brought on by poor driving habits. Unless you are paying $100s per year to keep your vehicle under bumper to bumper warranty or you have a death wish streak which unfortunately enjoys dragging your malfunctioning auto for repairs and being held up without a gun with unusual repairs being required on your vehicle and having your vehicle sit for days at the repair shop while you take public transportation and fret about it like a daddy-to-be in a maternity ward then you might want to listen up these suggestions. Saving cash on gas and on repairs being required on your vehicle are cousins. Take into consideration what better things that cash you are trashing could do for you. Take a trip? Get a better auto? Do some home makeovers? Absolutely there are more useful things you can do with your cash than an unending stream of repairs on your vehicle! TIPS Fill gas during the coolest time of day. During these times, fuel is densest. Recognize that gas station pumps measure volumes of gas, not densities of fuel concentration. You pay according to the volume Secure that gas cap. When the filter clogs up with debris, dust and bugs, it causes your auto to exert more effort and your automoblie becomes less gas efficient. Replacing a clogged air filter could improve gasoline mileage by as much as ten percent. It is a good idea to make sure to have your auto’s air filter checked whenever you change your oil. Your engine is just like your body. The better it breathes, the better it runs and uses less gas. You wouldn't run a marathon wrapped in a blanket while trying to breathe through a bath towel caked with dirt and bugs would you? Finally, don't short cut on any auto maintenance. Be serious about auto care. Your automoblie's efficiency depends on it and your family's safety does too. Many advice are just plain contradictory or wrong... Some articles recommended don't use your airconditioner which is great if you live in Florida or it is 100 degrees in the city! Then I found one article that recommends to keep the automobile windows open in the city streets but to keep your AC on when you are on the parkways because having the windows open while driving at high speeds adds drag which increases gasoline consumption. Who's right? Who's wrong? Who automobliees? Does it lower gasoline consumption? No, probably not! The best real solution to lower your gasoline consumption, with gas prices in the $3-4.50 range during the last year or so is to disconnect your umbilical cord... the one that connects you to the gas pump and get free from your chains of slavery to the oil companies and.... Convert to a hydrogen engine! How would it be you never needed to purchase another gallon of gasoline again? Convert your gasoline engine to hydrogen. If you do a partial (hybrid) conversion then you can expect to see reduced gasoline consumption of up to 30% maybe more. If you do this and also add acetone to your gas tank (which will save you another 25% or so) then you will have reduced your gasoline consumption by a combined 50%! Put in about 2-3 ounces of acetone per 10 gallons of gasoline and less gasoline will evaporate and you lower your gasoline consumption by 25% or more. If you do a full gas to hydrogen conversion then you will never have to buy another gallon of gasoline for the rest of your life. It is a piece of cake to do, costs next to nothing, safeguards the environment and you will have the reward of knowing that you are helping to conserve resources instead of consuming more than your fair share.
