Aluminum Siding And Awnings

By: Harry Browar

Strengthen the physique and value of your home with strong and durable aluminum sidings. Sidings for a building can be made from a range of materials but none can match the strength and durability of aluminum, more so when aluminum is combined with vinyl. Aluminum sidings have a life of 40 years and they are available in 12x36 or 12x48 panels.

Installing your siding can take time but is possible to do it yourself and save money. Aluminum siding comes complete with everything you will need to install it. Always remember to get a guide to help you install your siding. Basic tools you will need to install it are:

1) Chalk line 2) A Screwdriver set 3) Tin Snips 4) Hammer 5) Level 6) A Utility Knife to hack, dapper and score the aluminum siding

Before installing your siding you will need to be sure whether your backing will allow the panels to lie flat. A backing that is commonly used for aluminum siding is 3/8¡¨ foam board insulation. This will allow the panels to lie flat.

Remember not to nail the panels in too tight. You should try to nail it without stretching the panel. Place your nails and fasteners in the center of the slot and do not drive them too tightly beside the siding nail hem. Leave a minimum clearance space of 1/4¡¨.

You should carefully go through the directions because your success and the value of your home depend on the degree of professionalism you put in the job. If you think you cannot give the time the job demands, you can hire a professional contractor to do the project. It is better not to rework the corner posts as they are used to cover the ends of the plate. Use a j-channel to trim the ends of the siding. To keep the sidings closed the vertical seams must overlap.

Aluminum is a useful metal for household purposes. It can be used as blinds, sun shade or in a canopy. Aluminum sheets on your windows will block the sun light from coming into your house, always keeping it cool. This is not only cost effective, but will increase the beauty of your home thus increasing its value.

Install an aluminum awning over your deck and keep your deck life cool and bracing in the hot summer days. Aluminum is blessed with natural light reflecting capacity, which helps to keep both your home and deck cooler. Apart from your enjoyment, an aluminum awning will protect the deck from strong sunbeams thus increasing its longevity, especially of a natural wooden deck.

Aluminum can be used to improve your home and increase its value in many ways. These are just two of the most popular ones. So before you decide to sell your home these are two good ways to increase the resale value of your house and are worth looking into.
